Excursion-Metro Ride

Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Alambagh Campus, Lucknow, conducted a metro ride activity on 9th February 2024. The objective of the excursion was to teach young students from classes pre-nursery to class II about using public transportation like the metro and help them understand how people move around cities. Prior to the excursion, teachers familiarized students with the concept of public transportation through classroom discussions and visual aids. Safety guidelines were also emphasized. The excursion commenced with students gathering at the school and then reaching Singar Nagar Metro Station, accompanied by teachers. Metro station staff provided a brief orientation about the metro system, explaining its purpose, functioning, and safety protocols. This introduction included information about ticketing, boarding procedures, and emergency procedures. Students, accompanied by teachers and metro station staff, boarded the train from Singar Nagar Metro Station to Hazratganj. Teachers ensured that students adhered to safety measures and remained together throughout the journey. During the metro ride, students observed the surroundings, learned about various aspects of urban life visible from the train windows, and engaged in discussions facilitated by teachers regarding the importance of public transportation. After the exploration phase, students reboarded the train for the return journey to the starting point. Teachers utilized this time to reinforce key learnings and address the many curious questions asked by the students to the metro station staff. The metro ride excursion provided students with a valuable learning experience, fostering their awareness and understanding of public transportation while promoting safety and environmental consciousness. The activity was well-received by both students and teachers and contributed significantly to the students’ holistic education. All the students enjoyed the activity a lot. The day ended on a happy note.
