In an evening marked by splendour, reverence, and boundless enthusiasm, Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Alambagh Campus, celebrated its First Annual Function—UDAAN: Wings of Talent—on the 13th of December, 2024. This illustrious occasion carried even greater significance as it commemorated the birth anniversary of the school’s visionary founder, Late Mr. Krishna Chandra Mehrotra. A true architect of education, his ideals of integrity, academic excellence, and holistic growth continue to serve as the guiding light for this institution.

The evening unfolded as a symphony of elegance and inspiration, graced by the presence of the esteemed Chief Guest, Padma Shri awardee Mrs. Malini Awasthi, a celebrated folk singer and cultural icon whose unparalleled presence elevated the grandeur of the event. She was joined by the Guest of Honour, Mr. Anirban Bhattacharya, a highly respected educationist whose vision for progressive learning resonated deeply with the ethos of the school. Other distinguished trustees, dignitaries, parents, and well-wishers also honoured the occasion with their august presence.

The festivities commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, an age-old ritual symbolising the dispelling of ignorance and the illumination of knowledge. The lamp was reverently lit by Mrs. Malini Awasthi, Mr. Kishore Mehrotra (Chairman), and Mr. Manish Mehrotra (Trustee Member), amidst the soulful strains of the invocation hymn. The sublime Vandana performed by the students enveloped the venue in serenity, establishing a divine and uplifting ambiance to begin the evening’s celebration.

The event progressed into a dazzling tapestry of cultural performances that reflected the school’s theme for the year—“UDAAN: Wings of Talent.” Each performance embodied the spirit of aspiration, unity, and creativity, leaving the audience captivated.

Theatrical adaptations of Ramayan, Cinderella, and Snow White stood as the highlights of the evening, mesmerising spectators with their artistic finesse, flawless stagecraft, and emotive storytelling. These timeless narratives were brought to life with poise and precision, transporting the audience into worlds of wonder. Adding exuberance to the evening, dynamic performances like Bhangra and Disco Fever infused the program with high-octane energy and infectious enthusiasm.

The soulful strains of Sufi music and the rhythmic depth of Qawwali enchanted hearts, demonstrating the students’ versatility across genres. Beloved classics like Joker, Pied Piper, and Red Riding Hood were reimagined with creativity and flair, offering a delightful blend of nostalgia and charm. The beautifully orchestrated performances of The Nativity and The Little Mermaid reflected a seamless fusion of tradition and modernity, earning admiration from the audience.

Before the evening reached its grand conclusion, the Award Ceremony was held to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the meritorious students of Class X. Their hard work, perseverance, and academic excellence were lauded by the Chief Guest, Mrs. Malini Awasthi, the Guest of Honour, Mr. Anirban Bhattacharya, and the school leadership. Each award served as a testament to the school’s unwavering commitment to academic brilliance and its role in shaping future leaders. The proud faces of the awardees, combined with the heartfelt applause from the audience, highlighted the spirit of UDAAN—soaring to new heights with diligence and determination.

The evening then culminated in the much-anticipated Grand Finale, a breathtaking spectacle that embodied the theme—“Soaring High, Together as One.” A mesmerising confluence of synchronised movements, dazzling visuals, and joyful rhythms came together in a grand celebration of talent and unity. The finale left an indelible mark on every spectator, inspiring all to aspire, collaborate, and soar to greater heights.

In her inspiring address, the Chief Guest, Mrs. Malini Awasthi, applauded the exceptional performances, highlighting the students’ confidence and artistry. She praised the school’s dedication to fostering talent and holistic education while honouring the enduring legacy of Late Mr. Krishna Chandra Mehrotra. Her words resonated deeply, encouraging all to embrace creativity and strive for excellence.

In her heartfelt address, the Principal, Ms. Gunjan Danani, extended her gratitude to the parents, teachers, and staff for their unwavering support and dedication. The event drew to a close with a formal Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Kishore Mehrotra, Mr. Manish Mehrotra, and the dedicated faculty.
