Dussehra Celebration 2023
“Dussehra is a celebration of the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and truth over falsehood.”
On 20th October 2023 (Friday), students of Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Alambagh Campus, Lucknow, under the guidance of ma’am Mrs. Gunjan Danani, celebrated the joyous festival of Dussehra with great enthusiasm and excitement. Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami, is a major Hindu festival that marks the victory of good over evil. It is celebrated with various customs and traditions across India. To make the day more special, the children were encouraged to come dressed in traditional Indian attire. Many of them arrived in colorful ethnic outfits, adding to the festive atmosphere. To the delight of both children and parents, the little ones put on charming dance and singing performances, showcasing their enthusiasm and coordination. The senior children prepared a beautiful skit of the Ramayana in which they portrayed the entire journey of Lord Rama, from the beginning in Ayodhya to the epic conclusion. The children performed a beautiful dance to the song “Thumak Chalat Ram Chandra,” and they looked stunning in their well-prepared attire and ornaments, resembling Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, Vibhishana, Hanuman, Meghnath, and others.
The Dussehra celebration in our school was a memorable and educational event. It served as an excellent platform for our young learners to comprehend the cultural and historical significance of the festival while enjoying creative activities and performances. The Ramayana skit, dance, and music allowed the children to immerse themselves in the spirit of Dussehra. This celebration helped them appreciate the values of righteousness and the victory of good over evil that the festival represents. The day ended with the celebration concluding as the effigy of Ravana was burned, filling everyone with immense joy and enthusiasm, and they returned happily.
