Table Manner Activity 2022
“Good manners will open doors that the education cannot”. Manners are a sensitive awareness of the feelings of others. We believe in sensitizing the young ones from an early age. Apart from academic and intellectual development, personal grooming is an important aspect, and that is what we, at the Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, do by nurturing our students with essential life skills alongside knowledge dissemination. Keeping this in mind ,The school organized a session on manners and etiquettes for children of the pre-primary section. The children were taught the basic etiquettes of coming to the table with clean hands and faces. They learnt the use of a napkin, how to sit straight, ensuring elbows are off the table. They were told the importance of chewing with their mouth closed and not to talk with their mouth full. The little ones were taught how to help clear the table especially keeping their tiffins away. They were encouraged to eat healthy food only and not to waste any food. Also not to be fussy about food that was made. The children were taught to express their appreciation for the food cooked and for the person who cooked it.
They learnt the magic words to start with followed by the awareness of sharing is caring and helping at home. With such an awareness event, little ones have become more independent and are eating on their own, the school added. This manoeuvre strengthened the holistic development of each and every child developing their social and self-management skills. Our school, believe that the development of kids can be considered complete only and only if it happens equally in all aspects. A child that excels in academics but fails to possess even the basic life skills cannot be said to have developed holistically. As such, it becomes the prime responsibility of the parents as well as the teachers and the school alike to help shape a child’s character and his or her personality.
